Before Printing

Do’s

Dont’s

Check for power supply Never print a file before removing the last printed component
Remove the last printed part form bed if any Do not remove-and-plug power supply again and again
Heat the Nozzle up to the extrusion temperature of last printed material if previous material was of higher extrusion temperature Do not print until the bed is calibrated
Drain out all previously used material, before loading new filament Do not print before checking the axis movement
Uncoil the filament for 4-5 meter length to check entanglement & confirm filament flow is smooth
Check for brittleness of filament by breaking it along exposed end, break the filament until smooth section comes else use the fresh filament
Straighten & create a beak at the exposed end of filament, so that filament can go smoothly into the hot end
Check     for     the     memory     card/USB connection
Preparing the printer for printing

  • Calibrate the bed
  • Load the filament
  • Bed Preparation
  • Check   whether   the   printer   is   working Properly by moving all the axis
  • Check for the g-code file in memory card for the correct job
  • Start the Print

While Printing

Do’s

Dont’s

Check for the first few layers of print carefully Do not try to hold the printer axis during printing
Use Tweezer to remove any unwanted material from the nozzle Do not touch heating block or nozzle
Check all printing parameters carefully Do not stop feeder assembly
Stop the machine if any power fluctuation occurs Avoid touching belt drives and gantry while printer is working
Stop the print if print is not according to the STL file
In case of Print Stop: First stop print from setting and then stop the power supply
Pause print in case of filament breaking or when the spool is finished
Resume print after filament change/load

After Printing

Do’s

Dont’s

Allow the Bed/Job to cool down up to the room temperature Do not leave filament in open if there is no more printing work
Remove the Build Plate from the printer if it has a removable build plate Do not leave the printer power on after printing
Remove the part from bed Avoid removing power plug every time after printing
Use proper tool for removing part from bed i.e. Job remover Do not leave the printed part on printer
Unload the filament if no further printing has to be done Do not use hammering process to remove the part from bed
Switch off the power supply of printer if there is no new job
Send the printed job for post processing if needed

At Idle Condition

Do’s

Dont’s

Filament should be in unloaded condition Do not give power to the printer if there is no job
Filament should be placed in its own packing with sealed pack & keep that into a dry place, preferably closed drawer Do not leave the filament on printer or in open
Printer power supply should be switched off Do not place the printer at a place where it can affect the work flow of other employee or exposed to open environment
Place the Printer at a safe place
Printer axis should be locked properly

Printer Maintenance

Do’s

Dont’s

Lubricate printer axis every 3 months with grease Do not use any other oil for lubrication
Use Allen key only to assemble or disassemble the printer component Do not use plier or other tools except Allen key to assemble/disassemble the printer
Use plier to hold heating block and nozzle
Preventive Maintenance of feeder system every 6 months
Use canola oil to unclog the nozzle every week
